Shot Radius Editing
I read a very interesting post about 2 years ago when I was looking for ways to mod the EA NHL series which always seemed to me to have such great potential as a game but every year there's some major flaw in the game to keep you coming back for the next year's title. The post referred to editing a file (can't remember which one) and changing a long number, I think it was a thirty-two bit integer (you need a good hex/bin file editor like XVI32 (excellent and free)) and it would enlargen your shooting radius to where you could pick the corners of the goal very well from anywhere on the ice (it worked great) instead of the annoyingly tight shooting radius restriction EA seemed to put in all the titles, at least the PC based ones anyway, all the way up to NHL 06. I know I came across it when I happened upon IAMS Total Control Editor, I think it may have been a Sportsgamer forum posting and the poster had edited the file from NHL 2005 (that whole game needs a major overhaul). Anyone out there have any info on shot radius editing, I can't find the freakin' posting anymore and yes I do know Sportsgamer is gone...
