Wings Win

Congrats to the Wings.

The one thing that brought tears or close to tears was the site of Vladimir Konstantinov. He was a great guy and an excellent defensemen. And seeing him in the jersey and brought out to celebrate with his teammates was a great site.

And the thought of no more Bowman behind the Wings bench. Congratulations, Scotty on your 9th Cup win. All the luck in life to you.

Yes the wings did a great job . Scotty Bowman said he's going to call it a career . I wonder how many others will do the same from this team.

The best thing I saw in this series(not that I watched more than a combined 5 minutes of it) or any series.... was the most touching and heartfelt. It wasn't about the money, it wasn't about contracts or who is gonna go for the buck. It was seeing a crippled man, fight for control of his body. It was seeing one of the most fiercest hitters in this era. It was seeing a former teammate and friend. It was seeing Konstantinov holding the Cup over his head by his own power! He had the strength to lift it and my heart went out to him. It was sad to see his career cut short just days after winning the cup in 96.
His determination is a inspiration to us all that no matter what brings us down in life, we should not call it quits. Vlady didn't. He didn't want to believe that an accident can end a normal life. He can speak and it improves everyday. His motor skills also improve. He refuses to quit and neither should any of us for any of our hopes and dreams. Keep working hard and one day what you dream and set for as a goal will be achieved.

Amen to that Yammer, and it was in 97 when we won the cup. In 96, it was those chump ass bitches from Colorado.

Anyways, it was soooo good to see Vlady again. I got to meet him once here in Detroit, and he was one of the coolest guys in the world. His English was better than mine (not saying much on my part lol), and was just awesome. Surely to god they'll put his name on the cup again.

I have a question for you guys.

Did it ever, even for a second, cross your mind that Irbe could have been Conn Smythe?

Only if Carolina had won. That and I believe Hasek would have gotten it before Irbe
