MS 360 tech support

Get this.

I called them on the 21st of december 6:30 at night. and tried to get them to repair my 360 as if it were under it's warranty. They said no and I had to pay for the repair.

And they also stated that they coulnt give me a discount on the repair, even though i knew for a solid fact they have been know to charge 70.00 for the repair.


I decided that I was going to break open the 360 and attempt a repair myself, It was unsucessfull, my problems lie deeper than a heat sink.

I go to work on the 26th, and read that they had extended the warranty, and it was covering units that were Out of warranty in the past.

Flat out told the person in India that I has opened the 360, removed my heatsinks, and repasted them, and I knew that this voided my warranty, but they were going to fix it for free anyway. The lady agree'd. and I repeated what I had done, and this time I asked if they were still going to honor the Warranty, and she said she would. She also said tehy would sent out a Pre paid box so I didn't have to pay shipping, Bonus.

I waited a week till the 3rd of January, No box showed. So I call MS back up. India tells me that I need to speak with Hardware support, McAllen Texas???) Placed me on hold. I was trasnfered over to somone in texas, and Immedeatly asked for a supervisor, I was sick of the BS at this point. He said that he wanted a chance to fix the issue first and refused the super request. I was told that someone had made a mistake, and a box was not going to get sent. But they told me that He was sorry and we was going to cancel my old order and re issue a new work order, and he was personally going to fix the mistake him self. So Im in a good mood.


So I wait another week and again no box showed up. I call MS, and speak to someone in india again, and explain my problem. And Again I am transfered over to Texas. I explain to the person that I hadn't gotten a box and wanted to make sure that there info was right and to make sure that they didnt sent it to the wrong adress.

He confirmed my addy, and said that he was going to transfer me to a supe, before I could say thanks or ok, or even piss off I hear a dial tone. S.O.B.


I call MS by now I have the phone prompt memorized "360" "Operator" "Operator"
I can assume that an earthquake or something hit India in the last Half Hr because I got right in to the states, I explained my problem for the 3rd time that day.

The person said that he was going to transfer me to a super, complete with a 4th explanation. She explained that a Mistake had been made and they forgot to send out a box, and she re issued me a 3rd work order, and got a second promise that the file had been made correctlly. the total Pain in the neck is that they have a confirmed call on the 3rd of October where I had my initall issue, and they wont evtend my warranty for the time I was technically without a warranty, not sure if that is illegal or not, but I will find out.

Anyway I explained that I had gone through so much BS that I think they should send me a New 360 Next day and Ill send them my old 360, and was told no.

I checked with a bookie in Las Vegas and he told me that he gives MS 10-1 odds that they did it right and Ill actuall get a box this time.

Meh, next time get an extended warranty where you buy it. 2 year warranty at best buy are good, mate, even if you pay 30$ more.
