NHL 09 PC-DVD Way too easy!

Hey,

sorry for my english, I'm from Germany!

I play NHL 09 on Difficulty: Hard, but I win 90% of the Games with an 78 Team (Columbus)! I'm not an NHL 09-Freak and play the Game not so frequently, so I can't understand, why the hardest Difficulty is so easy!

Are they other settings, which could make the Game more difficult, or is there maybe a bug in the Game, that HARD is not HARD?

Have you similar problems???

Get the AI mods for it. Or why don't you just install hands down the best game of the series, modernized here?

I guarantee that you'll get much more challenge and enjoyment from rebuilt 2004.

Hello again,

I'm suffering from the same problem. Started 1st round in playoffs with Stars against Flames (1st game: 8:1; 2nd 10:3...) I even tried not to check attacking players as soon as they've crossed the blue line (which doesn't solve the realism- and too-much-goals-problems)...

Result: 9:6 in 3rd game... Annoying...
Which now forces me to do something and come back to the thread I discovered some time ago (I tried to adjust the regulations in the "gameplay settings" The problem is, it works on both teams, doesn't it?

So, now (after I couldn't find any files in the 09 folder) I would like to ask, if you can recommed a file.
E.g. this one: NHL Depot - Downloads - mo's gameplay

I would like to add that I have already patched the BvH Roster for 2010 and changed some things with NHL View. It would be nice, if the new patch didn't harm that.

you can always back up the rosters before you install the Gameplay mod to test if it crashes the game or not.

I had the same problem before i got this mod.

Now its waaay harder to win games...

Same problem, I'll try out the suggestions and try to remember to report back. I've always had trouble installing add-ons though.

Can these type of add-ons be used in Dynasty?

So, now, I've copied the files from Breakaway but NHL 09 doesn't start no more...

So, this one's out. I'll try the one, I suggested earlier: "mo's gameplay"

But still, what do you mean with "it won't solve the problem"? My problem is that I have scores which are unbelievable (just like the 8:2 of the Stars against visiting Sharks

)... but not all the time... Of course I didn't have any problems in the playoffs, I finished today with 16-0-0-0. Just because strong Bruins were no matchup. Scores were 9, 8, 3, 8... Not to mention previous rounds...
So, as soon as goals are not that easy, my problem is solved so far. Or, please explain what it would be that solves the problem.

That mod you tried but didn't work worked fine for me, but my game is slightly laggy now and I have a more than capable system. Let me know how the mo's gameplay works out.

I think I know what you meant. Doesn't really solve the problems but looks a little bit more realistic even if gameplay isn't really. Opponents still don't spend much time in the offense.
And what does it do, actually? I've got the impression, it is just another default setting for the gameplay settings (and thus just what I already tried - but less successfully).

Sorry for double post.

I play dynasty mode with Dallas, now in my second season. After 4 games, 4 wins, 2 shutouts, I resume the measures didn't help at all. So, quit the game and wait...

After restarting the game I couldn't believe what I saw

Viewing my roster; I could read B. Morrow 99, B. Richards 99, D. Krejci 99, L. Eriksson 99, M. Modano 99, J. Lehtinen 95, J. Neal 97 and so on... I mean, WTF??????????? Defense doesn't look much better - or exchange it with "worse". S. Robidas 96, T. Daley 91 mentioned only as examples.
When I shut down the game last time, all players where quite good but 5 to 10 points weaker. After I saw what happened, I dind't have a good mind to play only ONE game... That sucks...
Why are they so strong??? I have an average of 96 (next opponent: Nashville, one of the better ones, 85). That's just no fun! I didn't even invest any points in coach upgrades...

Another thing to complain about is that Iginla, Ovechkin, Savard and many more are FREE AGENTS!!! Why would any team not give a new contract to Ovechkin? I mean, ok, that would have cost $ 11 mio.

*sigh* Why is Dynasty so unbalanced? There isn't even an alternative as you can paly only one season. So, how could you realistically develop players (as you could in 2002 for example)?

Well, I guess, I will have to change tactics and avoid dynasty. Thanks for your answers though. Hopefully, it'll work a little better far from dynasty, although I'm some kind of a developer.
