Game hangs up at upstart

I've bought a new computer and since then I have ad some problems with NHL08. It hangs up at upstart, just when that silly "hybrid controls" picture shows up. It just freezes there and the only way to get out of it is to shut down the computer and restart it. It has happened three times in the recent weeks.

I've tried to re-install the game but the problem is still there. Is there any way to solve this problem or at least don't have to restart the computer when the game freezes.

It's stupid because the game did work rather good at my old computer.

Does this happen to certain teams or all teams?
Any new addons?

It happens with all teams and I haven't added anything in the recent months.

But I haven't had any problems since my first post 15 November.

And so it happened again!

And the only thing to do is to shut down and restart the computer. Very annoying.

I guess the only thing to do is to get a copy of NHL 09. Maybe that game works better in all aspects.

To be honest, I've never been that happy with NHL 08. The only thing I like are the graphics.

The only problem is that I don't have the time for re-installing all addons and re-writing the rosters I have to re-write for NHL 09. I guess that will be a summer job.
