Just got NHL 08, what are the BEST updates?

So I just picked up NHL 08 today. Kinda late I know, haha. but it was $8.

So I was looking for some game updates for sounds, goal horns and songs, rosters, arenas, you name it I want it

But there are so many choices? Which are the absolute best updates that I should be getting that everyone agrees with here? thanx a lot!

And how do I install them? My last hockey game on the PC was NHL '93 !

There is no roster update. The last roster update was released before 09 was released.
Most addons work with 08 that are released for 09. hockeydownloads.com has loads of packs

I have a link in my sig to get addons to work on Vista but, if you skip the turn off UAC step, it is the same for installing addons but change 09 to 08

Installation Instructions
Step 1:
Copy and Paste or unzip exhibition.exh to your My Documents\NHL08 FOLDER. Say Yes to overwriting the file.

Step 2:
Copy and Paste or unzip exhibition.exha.tdb to your My Documents\NHL08 FOLDER. Say Yes to overwriting the file.

Step 3:
Copy and Paste or unzip db.viv to your C:Program Files\EA Sports\NHL08\db FOLDER. Say Yes to overwriting the file.

Step 4:
Click on BHImport

Well which modder makes the best updates for the game? Usually in a game community most people can agree that a certain few modders have better work than anyone else does.......

So I ran the PNHL08 and things look good in the game, but now I've seem to have lost the team logos when I when I am selecting the teams I want to play. How can I get them back ??

Oh and another thing, is there a Play by Play on the pc version of NHL 08 ?

I never hear any commentary, just the in game sounds........

And I also loaded Flux V 6.0 goal horns and songs but I still don't hear the authentic goal horns or songs for each team/arena ??

turn the on ice sound off in the sound options t get PBP

regarding the team logos, does it do it for all teams or specific teams or leagues?

regarding goal horns, you have to change the goal horns association in NHL View for the teams. |the readme for the goal horns should have the updated numbers

so turning off the on ice sound will get the bplay by play? ok I will try that.

I had to restart the game again and I got the team logos back. Hope that was just a fluke.

I am not sure what you mean by the NHL View thing? kinda lost on that one.

I just noticed that the Flux goal horns 6.0 is for NHL 09 and Flux goal horns 4.0 is for NHL 08.

Being that I have NHL 08, does it matter that I installed Flux goal horns 6.0 ?

haha ok I just figured out that NHL View is a 3rd party program.

ok I downloaded it and I see under teams/arenas there are options to change a few things. Now there is where I get lost again.

Goal horns should work on 08

the readme says what number need to be changed for each team, change the number in the option next to Goal Horn.

then save when done.

Ok so now that I've got the NHL goal horns working correctly, I have a few more things I'd like to fix. The goal songs now need to be overhauled, and another issue that is bothering me now....

Whenever I am at MSG, there are Icelander fans all over the building. It looked cool when I was playing the Icelanders, but now they show up when I play any other team!!!! help me lol
