Max Speed for Goalies - If you set it too high, the goalie will move extremely fast as if they had rockets.

I had it set to max and Luongo stacked the pads like a meter away from the net.

Thanks for your work, Iam.

what fun!

looking forward to getting more details on what everything does.

i'm a little disappointed though, after seeing there was a whole section for penalties, i thought maybe we'd be able to adjust the frequency for each individual type of penalty.
oh well.

Hey guys can you add more details, when/how do you get that error exactly, I can't reproduce it here. Thanks!

Captain Mazda, regarding the release, it should be a bit different from the last one you got to test. I stripped down most definitions while waiting for more accurate ones...

Weird, I can't reproduce this error...

Is anyone having this problem, when selecting inc rate/dec rate, you get Error 13 ??

not i.

on another note. i agree with what you said in the readme. increasing the goalie speed tends to make goalies freak out. even just a slight increase and they will start jumping around.

Questions

Thank you Iam for this release. I'm very happy especially with what it does to goalies and faceoffs.

I have couple of questions. I hope there is someone who has gotten comfortable with TCE08 already and can answer these.

How does goalies' "Butterfly, Max Speed" and "Set, Max Speed" affect their actions?

I've been trying to make CPU defense more aggressive. There are four parts under "Defense, Checking":
- Get Carrier Dist
- Max Gap Dist
- Base Gap Dist
- Zero Gap Dist
I'm not sure should I increase or decrease those values to get CPU to check more or even stand on my way when I attack. Does anyone know this?

Plus, what on earth is "Fan Shot Multiplier" on "Shooting"?

Hey IAM!

First of all thanks for your hard work on the TCE!

Theres a problem with running TCE on Vista 32bit. I get the ocx erreor thing that you mentioned. Dowloaded TCE Support Files, installed “VB6.0-KB290887-X86.exe” first and got the message, that says something like “Installation may have failed”. You can now choose to tell Vista that the installation was succsessfull or cancel (I have a German Vista). I checked the Microbrain download site and i saw that there is no “VB6.0-KB290887-X86.exe” support for Vista. It’s available for all previous versions.
So i still get the ocx error message. MS searchengine only found the above download.

Thanks in advance!

Schreibi, try downloading the Support Files Package in the same folder you use TCE from (no need to run the bat file if you do it this way).

Try TCE again... let me know how it goes.

Oh, let me know which OCX windows in complaining about as well...

Thanks IAM!

You have to run the support package from the TCE directory. No it works.

I will have a beer on you on my IAM-Memorial-Day!

Hello IAM,

thanx for the tool!
But I have the same problems in using it, as with your first TCE.
Do you remember my supportthread for your old TCE?
I don´t know, which sides of the sliders are good for me and which sides of the sliders are good for the AIs. In the helpwindows you are writing a discription of the Option, but you don´t write how to use it.
Could you please too write that into the descriptionfields of TCE?
Would you please add such a help?

Perhaps like this:
lower values are difficult for the User
or
higher values are difficult for the User

I would be very pleased.
Thanx.

I am quite sure that at "0" CPU will shoot quicker when it gets the puck. This means it increases the shooting as you have less time to defend.

I have also used NHL View to modify every players "Shoot/pass" value to near zero so CPU will shoot more and pass less when it attacks. With the same program I changed every teams attacking strategy to "Aggressive". The game's more difficult now, but still not enough.
