How does NHL 07 calculate the players' overall stats? Is there a formula? What is it?

Also, how does the game decide if a player is of a certain type? Again, is there a formula for how it chooses who's a sniper and who's a power forward? What is it?

Sorry if this is a "noob" question.

1. Overall for NHL 07 is just the average of all attributes.

2. It is based on how high the ratings for a specific group for a certain playing style is and the other ratings are lower. The Playing Style is just EA Eye Candy. They do not affect any gameplay.

Cool, thanks for that. Most is what I suspected.

I kind of miss the fact that in some of the older games, some of the stats had no effect on overall stats, especially Aggressiveness.

If the player style has no effect on the game, how about line chemistry? Does that have any real effect?

Line chemistry is EA Eye Candy as well. It does not affect the gameplay.
