Exclamation Solution to Installation Errors and Related White Screen Crash

Problem:
I am experiencing errors installing the game and after installation the game will crash at a white screen after the cd check.

Solution:
Your system is missing the OLEACC.DLL which is part of Microsoft Active Accessibility. Hit the Windows update and download the latest Active Accessibility or install Accessibility options from your Windows CD. You will need to reinstall your game as the EASO installer uses Active Accessibility and so does the final runtime installer.exe

My Solution worked also:
D/L Ad-Aware and Spybot install and run them both.......game worked like a charm after that. Dawgbigie

I am sorry to bother you guys again, but i really need to get this game work.

I uninstalled NHL2004, downloaded OLEACC.DLL and put it to my windows/system folder. Then i tried to install NHL 2004 again, and surprise, the white screen came straight after the installation. Before, that OLEACC.DLL the white screen came when i launched NHL2004.

I have tried almost everything, new user account, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, CW-Shredder, i also downloaded all Windows updates that were available to Windows Me. Any suggestions what to do next???

I have Windows ME, 800Mhz, 256ram, Radeon 8500, etc ...everything should then work. Damn. I am pissed off.

I agree with robert but Don't use XP I am I computer tech and xp was not designed for games load win 98 SE and do all you crital updates and just hard drive mapping and shut down problems DO NOT USE any p2p clients they are full of spyware and not all spy can be removed imbeds into Explorer and NHL 2004 uses Explorer to run. Also get the latest drivers from Ati.

you are right xp wasn't designed for games-- XP was designed to be fast and stable for servers-- and being fast and stable for servers translates to the same thing for games.. just look at any benchmarks around on the net, way back when i still only had a geforce 2 mx, i could only play the version of NHL that was out at the time at 800x600 with AA on, and when windows 2000 came around (almost the same internals as XP) i got such a speed boost that i could run at 1024x768 with AA on and still get a faster frame rate than before-- if you've had a chance to try windows 2003 server, even though thats designed for servers as well, it runs games like GTA:VC much much better, in XP sometimes you'll get a graphics streaming problem where you drive close up to a building and its still in low-detail mode (with a low-end cpu, mid-range gfx card), that doesn't happen in windows 2003.. now im not saying go get windows 2003 because its expensiver most likely and doesn't have consumer level support (and i used a beta trial version anyways which they give out at computer shows) but XP is the way to go-- theres still 2 more years before the next version of windows comes out, so even now, buying XP would be a decent investment

XP designed for servers? Pardon me? Don't make me laugh. XP is designed for multimedia applications/games. There are a lot of unused services that you can disable to make your computer run faster and other little windows enhancements that you can turn off.

Exclamation Installation problems

When I try to run NHL 2004 to install the game, all that comes up is the white screen, and I'm assuming the game has crashed, since it takes up 97-100 percent of the RAM. The only thing I can do is end the process. I've installed the latest update for Microsoft Active Accessibility, and it still isn't working. I've also tried running it in compatibility mode, and I ran it as compatible with Windows 2000, and it still hasn't worked. Can someone please help me? Even posting a link to where I can download a working copy of NHL04 would be good.
Thanks
PS- I know my problem sounds similar to others, but I am anxious to play NHL 04. I used to own it for GC, and it was awesome.
