Salaries
I think EA should assign a salary to each player according to his current paycheque
this number would increase based on performance or decrease if the player doesn't play well
the main purpose of this would be to restrict people from creating 'all-star' teams comprised of the best players in the league, while the other teams are forced to play low-rated players
the teams would be increase their payroll based on attendance and winning trophies
ah, I just thought of something: why not replace NHL Cards with money? that would be really cool.
I also thought about specific teams (Detroit, Philly, Toronto, the Rangers) that are much wealthier than small-market teams and whether they should automatically start off with high budgets
I don't know about that though...it would be complicated and unfair to other teams
adding salaries could also change trading dramatically.
teams would be able to acquire high-calibre players without giving too much up (the current game forces you to trade star players for star players)
if salaries were implemented, teams could trade high-potential players for stars. the only disadvantage for them would be a huge hike in their payroll.
(I though of that from the Jagr and Bure trades, where Washington and the NYR gave up practically nothing)
tell me what you think of these ideas.
