NHL 2004 and Vista is irritating me

OK so I bought a new computer with Vista installed. NHL 2004 works fine. I transferred all my add on (fe, jerseys, arenas,etc) and it all worked fine. The I tried to install project fanbase, and the game stall at the game loading screen. So I uninsrtalled, reinstalled and a clean game works fine. Now when I even just put in my roster the game hangs at the loading screen. Can anyone help me fix it?

The problem may be that NHL 2004 add ons are uncompatible, even 07 and 08 users are finding alot of stuff doesn't work when vista is used as an OS. I would check out the support area, I think I read in there how someone got a couple add ons to work.....it sounded like a tedious process but could be worth a shot.

try this web site (http://z6.invisionfree.com/flyermani...hp?showforum=4) they deal with nhl 2004 addons....it sounds like your .exh file and db.viv file may be corrupt ...does it work with the original games files (.exh and db.viv)?...make sure you didn't change any settings in your arena.viv file....this will also hang the loading screen

I think the problem may be stupidity. I tried my rosters with the default arenas, etc. But they're pnhl style rosters, so on the default Anaheim, at New jersey, the game would hang, but then I thought I'd try New Jersey at Anaheim. VOILA! So I am giving it another go. But does tis mean I need to change something in NHLview for project fanbase? The crowd value maybe?

change the board numbers

BADD/Board numbers, you can change them using NHL Info or NHL View

Non PNHL rosters (Regular Roster)
All NHL Teams - 1
All Allstar teams - 1
All National teams - 1 but Sweden (2) and Finland (3)
All Del teams - 1
All Elitserien teams - 2
All SM-Liiga teams- 3

PNHL Rosters
All NHL Teams, their BADD numbers are the same as the AAID, CAID, ACID numbers in NHL Info
All Allstar teams - 1 (Or whatever arena the allstar game is at from the NHL list)
All National teams - 1 except Canada (20), USA (19), Sweden (2) and Finland (3)
All Del teams - 1
All Elitserien teams - 2
All SM-Liiga teams- 3

Supepack Rosters
All NHL Teams, their BADD numbers are the same as the AAID, CAID, ACID numbers in NHL Info
All Allstar teams - 1 (Or whatever arena the allstar game is at from the NHL list)

Ok everything (minus the new crowds) wirks again. I have the board values set for 0-33 for the nhl, 34-55 for natioanls, etc. All teams have individual boards. So now I need to know if the crowds from project fanbase need to be adjusted with nhlview as well. I see there is a crowd setting, but they are all set for 0. Does this need to be changed or should I just be content with the way it is?

Project Fan Base is for NHL 06, 07, and 08. Half of it is NOT compatible for NHL 04. The other half that MIGHT be - will have to be installed in a different location for 2004. You can't assume that graphics that are made for a certain game will easily work for older games.

try to install manually each crowd under each team see if that works.....
