Which PC Version of NHL had/has the best Soundtrack?

So what do you think?
Please vote and write down why you think the game of your choice had/has the best soundtrack.
Discuss:

I personally prefer the NHL97 Soundtrack. It's propably the best one ever made for an NHL game. I've recorded all 4 tracks with an audiorecorder from the game and enjoy listening to them very often =)

2 Menu Themes (I recorded them in one piece)
2 Break Themes (same here)
1 Win Theme
1 Lose Theme

It wasn't that much music for a game back then but I liked it. It was pure metal/electro and every single song is a catching tune.

I'm not sure which one I'd call the best but I WILL say that they are getting progressively worse every year. Who makes the decisions for these songs? They're so annoying. I end up just having to turn most of them off in the jukebox. Whoever does the music must not know a lot about hockey because it seems like the music is all for angry 14 year old girls that dress in all black and complain about their lives a lot.

I have to agree because if there's one thing about EA games that annoyes me the most since 2000 it is that the soundtracks are really becoming worse every year.
Well for those 14 year old girls I have to say that they don't even understand what they do because Gothic is a lifestyle and not a fashionstyle. For them it's a fashionsytle and they also think that it's necessary to complain all the time. People who are in the scene don't complain about their lifes and aren't depressive all the time. It's just a cliche.
I have to admit that I really like the song from Paramore.

Anyways I don't know why EA decided to include HipHop and Pop songs into the games instead of Metal and Rock as they used to do. Icehockey is a rough sport and you can't underline it with HipHop or Pop songs.

-edit-
Those of you who liked the NHL 97,98 and 99 soundtracks should check out this homepage:
http://www.jeffvandyck.com/

Jeff Van Dyck made the soundtracks for all of the games and also some other noticable ones like Need For Speed II

I'd have to say the original NHLPA 93. MIDI guitar solo FTW.

But in my opinion, it's not that EA's soundtracks get worse every year - it's hit or miss. For example, 05 had a hockey quality song here or there, 06 was unimpressive, but all 07 tracks eventually grew on me. Don't know just what the heck "Turn Up the Radio" is talking about, but it's pretty damn nifty.

Sorry for that. It was listed up at wikipedia when I did my research, but I thought since one of them wasn't a PC game it shouldn't be in the vote. Maybe an admin can change the poll

I love the 08 soundtrack and find myself addicted to a couple of tracks already. There is some bitchin crack whores singing some bitchin tunes (Opps, was that my outside voice).

I'd like to have some accurate tabs for the songs in 97 too but there are no tabs. You will have to learn the songs by ear. I tried and it's very hard. I tried different tunings and I think Jeff uses a drop A tuning.
