And honestly, I could really care less at this point if I was banned here. That doesn't mean I am going to go out of my way to get banned but if it happens, it happens.

I just would like for you to look at it from my view for just a second. I have looked at it from your view. Long. Long time ago. When I first started it sucked when someone posted my work under their name, even after they gave credit and never took any credit for it. It bugged me but slowly over the years I just realized I never "owned" those images.
Also, just look at an NHL2002 jersey and a NHL08 jersey. Unless this guy never had at least SOME courtesy to mention you, you would have never known he used your work.

"Modifying someone's work without their permission is stealing." havent modified ur work on graphics etc, only resized and cropped jerseys. Even if that is considered modifying, do you still think your reaction to all this was normal? if so then you have some problems =/ sorry...

I think he overreacted. I can see if you took his gear and added it to a game where we could actually tell that it was his work then, yeah he could freak out. But he would not have even know about it had you not said his name.
When you make addons, its fun. When it no longer becomes fun... stop making addons. There were a lot of reasons I pretty much stopped and no fun was one of them.

Oh also... the Forum Rules that keep getting quoted are NOT the forum rules found here last year at the same time. Yeah, we said stealing addons and shit.. but not like that. Those rules were modified when DOx and Drezz came over.

I gotta say, I agree with Yammer in that credit is enough for me if someone wants to use my work. I can understand that other addon makers feel differently, though, and the rules here back them up. So, I just removed 2 of my files where I realized I only credited, rather than PM'd for permission. My apologies for that.

BTW, I wanted to read the rules for myself, but I always get a page not found error. ???

I've never been banned, and I never insulted you. If I get banned for the few comments I've made (opinions, free-speech) then that is WEAK.

True, I've yet to contribute an add-on here yet, but I did some work for NHL07 (front-end logos, custom goalie masks, and a torf for the then-new Sabres jersey...) The only difference is that I never used add-ons to bolster my self esteem, like some do. I have other more tangible reasons to live, as most do I imagine.

All this could have been avoided if he just asked for permission.

When I made the GoaliePack07 I asked all the people who's masks and pads I used before I released it.

There's nothing wrong with modifying an addon for your personal use. I do it all the time. Just keep it to yourself.

It becomes a problem when you modify an addon and then upload again without permission from the original creator. If you want to share it with others, ask the original creator if they are okay with the modification.

From my point of view, you should be happy that revieced used YOUR jerseys and imported them into his OLD game, and used his time on it. He did not upload the addons to the depot, SG, or any other addon site, he just upped them to rapidshare, for the few people that play NHL 02.(becouse someone asked if anyone has addons for that game).

Thus, if you continue like you did(in posting in this thread), Drutka, I am awaiting your insults

If not, take it as a MAN, and write somthing reasonable, non-offensive, and inteligent
