I guess this topic has been covered several times already...

I'm trying to play NHL07 on my PC with a PS2 controller, using a USB adapter.

The pad got recognized as "Twin Shock" in both Windows control panel and NHL07 config menu. I then adjusted the buttons to my liking, and started playing...

BUT the control scheme is not the one I set up, it's the default one (I guess so).

I've tried NHL07Tweak utility, NHL07JoyRenamer and manually editing my register, but none of those solutions worked.

Is there a way to get the game use my custom buttons configuration in games or is it a lost cause?

I am using the PS2 controller with USB adapter too. I think it's by Wasaki. I experienced the same problems as you're explaining here, so I just bit the bullet and decided to start using the default controls. At first I sucked at it, but now I have grown used to it. Actually, now that I have gotten used to these controls I have gotten to like it a lot. I suggest you give it a try, because I'm not so sure there's a way around it.
