but in NHL 2006 you cant
I tried random but it hardly changes the face

Well first, you should post in the right forum.

EA knew that the hockey game wouldn't really use the custom faces they put in the game. They know there are sites like DMHN and NHLDepot and that there are people at those sites who make cyberfaces.
Or it could be that they were just lazy and didn't make enough possibilities.

They should bring back the option to put your own face in the game (NHL 2002) and bring back the ability to save replays.
