Player type

Is it possible to change a player's "Type"? I'd like to make Crosby a playmaker, not a sniper etc. Any way of doing this?

open nhlview if you have it. Then change certain settings.

Shoot-Pass
Pass-Carry
Defense-Offense.
Change those settings and you change the player style

Yes, that's the only way - and it'll be trial and error. You'll have to discover what attribute settings will affect which style of play. It's a guess on my part that having a shot accuracy of 99 will attribute to the "sniper" category, etc.. play around....

It is also EA Eye Candy, it has no effect on the game if you play the game. If you sim the games, it does have an effect.

No, those settings don't have any effects on the player style.

Like Gamby said it's an eye Candy. The shoot/pass, etc will have an effect on the frequency of shot per player.

If you want to change the player style you'll have to work on those skills:

Playmaker: passing
Dangler: Deking and Puck Control
Sniper: Wrist shot/Slap Shot accuracy
Power Forward: Toughness and Checking

But some players can't be change, when a player is over 93 it's very hard to make him a playmaker even if you put 99 of passing. In the Depot Roster, Crosby has 99 of passing and his shots accuracy are in the 90's too so it makes him automaticly a sniper. It kind of sucks and I want crosby to appear has a playmaker but I won't reduce his shooting skills only for that eye candy made by EA. I don't care because he still has those incredibly passing skills so it's still kool.
