Is there anyway to have also 1440 x 900 as res? |
Södy 09-27-2007 at 02:00 AM |
If I understand it right, putting up the FPS Boost to Extreme will set down all Details to nearly 0? |
Battleweary 09-27-2007 at 04:04 AM |
I have a 7900 GTO and none of the widescreen resolutions in your program are supported by my card. 1440 x 900 is a much more standard widescreen ratio. |

I agree.....................1440x900 |
Alesh 09-27-2007 at 05:17 AM |
Great tool! But my screen do not like these resolutions. What about to put a smaller ones like 1024×640? 1440×900 is a standard ratio, but I would have the game at 15 fps with this high resolution. |
Stifmeister 09-27-2007 at 07:34 AM |
I'm using 1680x1050 with my 21'' wide screen monitor. Any way to get that to NHL 08 too? |
Stifmeister 09-27-2007 at 07:36 AM |
Or 1600x1024? |
adrian79 09-27-2007 at 09:49 AM |
can you make also support for 1400x900 resolution
thx
|
Vric 09-27-2007 at 11:14 AM |
1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1440×900 would be usefull since it's actually the real wide resolution. |

Hey guys... Could I ask a favor, if you have any questions, comments or bugs, could you please send me an email at iamnhlmod@gmail.com instead of asking here, it will be a lot easier for me to track all the requests/support the tool. thanks guys!
Anth0879, Battleweary, Lars, adrian79, I'll try but I don't think there's a way to do it without having a black bar on the side of the screen. I'll investigate.
Sody, not all details, just the On-Play Player Details. Extreme sets it to 50 (2 notches from the left).
Alesh, 1024x640 will be implemented in the next version.
Stifmeister, unfortunately it's technically impossible to go beyond 1600v, you have to use 1600x1000, which is almost the same and has been reported to work well for 1680x1050 users. 1600x1024 should work though... I'll have a look!
Vric, as said above, it's technically impossible (without hacking the NHL08 EXE, which I wont do) to go beyond 1600 ver / 1200 hor pixels for the game display.
In other to please everyone, I might just add a custom resolution option in the next release, where you can input your own res... obviously you'll use this at your own risk! |

where I need to extract those files from wide08??? |
beleafer 09-28-2007 at 06:46 PM |
The program doesn't seem to work for me as I get an error "wide08 has stopped working" when I click apply settings. Any idea? I use Vista. |
J_Bussone 09-28-2007 at 08:00 PM |
reply to beleafer: I have Vista also and I am experiencing the same problem. Don't worry though, as IAMs is currently looking into it. |
beleafer 09-29-2007 at 11:00 AM |
Awesome, thank you kindly. |
iam 09-29-2007 at 11:26 AM |
beleafer and J_bussone...
Are you on vista 32 or 64?
I'm 100% sure your problem is related to the vivutils.dll library that comes with the tool. For some reason, it doesn't work on your system.
Could you please try the following:
Open a command prompt (DOS window) and go to the folder where you have both wide08 files (the exe and the DLL). then type:
regsvr32 /s vivutils.dll
Then try wide08 again. Let me know how it goes but please, email me instead, I don't come here often.
Thanks. |

iam,
I downloaded the zip file, but I do not have the "Vista Read Me File" within the zip.
It has 3 files :
History.text
vivutils.dll
wide08.exe
Where does the vivutils.exe go ?
I'm dying to try this out to see if it the game will run normal rather than in slow motion....
Thanks iam,
John |

camp, as said on the other side, my bad, I didn't package the readme in v1.2...
Here it is:
IMPORTANT VISTA USERS
When you start Wide08.exe, you will be prompted to Cancel or Allow the execution
of this program by the Windows UAC (User Account Control).
You MUST select 'Allow' in order to launche Wide 08.
This will tell Windows Vista to use this tool as an 'Administrator'.
This is required by the program since it performs operations that require administrator
rights (new on Vista) such as Read/Write to registry, DLL calls etc. |

Extract the files anywhere, as long as wide08.exe and vivutils.dll are in the same folder you'Re ok. |
