Vancouver HOME and AWAY Preview #2

Both of the new preview pics above have a light mesh. I also found some problems with the layering on the away Jersey in a few places which was causing some jaggy edges with the harder color. This has been fixed but unfortunately in the new ingame shots I forgot to update the away tors so they have no mesh and a blending issue in 2 places so the arms should look even better.

I am going to try and polish up the Orca Logo's a bit and yes I realize there are no collars on these so far heh. I have been looking for some collar templates for a while now but nobody has responded. I'm almost tempted to try a few different Jersey templates just to see how they look aswell.

Anyone have any information about DGTS files? I have an idea how they work but I havent messed with them yet. Anyone hints and tips would be great!

they look very good, but why do they look like replicas and not pro's I mean they have the CCM logo's on the arms which would indicate semi pro jerseys but yet you still have the fight strap on the lower rear meaning it's an on ice pro.

If making a pro remove the ccm from the sleeves and add the NHL shield logo to lower right rear if making a replica remove the fight strap from the rear.

I know I'm being over realistic / picky on that, but I thought I should point it out just incase you missed it or made a mistake.

Ok, I don't want to sound mean, but does it really matter? I mean, talking in REAL jerseys, you know, the ones you buy from stores, the only real difference between a pro and replica IS the stupid tie-down strap thing in the back... I've seen someone who spent hundreds of dollars on a pro, and I have 14 replicas, and there's no difference in material or anything, just the tie down, and honestly, if you're going to actually wear them, it doesn't matter if you have the strap, it's not like someone is going to mug you on the street and put you in the box because your jersey wasn't tied down lol

WOW! Amazing work! Everything is awesome. The jersey texture is excellent, cresting is awesome, and I love the way you did the silver on the sleeves and bottom. I give it a 9.5/10, just because I can't give you a perfect score

I work in retail, so I can tell u differences.

In the authentic jersey, they have the fight strap at the back, as well as everything is double sewn. If you compare the two, the replica is only sewn once, but the pro twice, so it's thicker and more durable.

etc

But is the extra sewing really worth paying up to $150 more than a replica? My oldest jersey is 4 years old, and the only wear on it is on one of the elbows, where it got ripped on the street when I was playing goal, which would have happened to either... lol, I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, I just don't see where people would want to spend the extra money.

I'm not super picky, I think the jerseys are GREAT, better than anything I'll ever do... I was just talking about actual jerseys, and why people would spend their hard earned money for a pro rather than replica

There is also a material difference in pro's to semi's too look at the Nike Pro Team Canada and the Nike Semi Pro two different materials all together.

Also sometimes semi pro cresting is not stiched either just heat glued on where as 100% of all pros are heat glued and then stiched

I know I work with in the Hockey Industry too.

How did my post get so off topic I was just mentioning to Zargrim that if he wanted the on ice authentic look game jersey then the replica style should not be on it.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I am glad some of you like them. I am trying to make these as authentic looking as possible.

I just assumed that the below Jersey was what they wear. I can remove the CCM logo on the side or make two different versions of the Jersey if need be.

I will eventually add the NHL Logo on the back right side aswell. I am working on Collars atm. I have not attempted the third Jersey yet as it will take extra time I think.

the replicas are costly enough...i usually can't afford one. the sens road jersey i have is a replica i got for half off($45 american) over the summer, and last time i checked, the store i got it from had no more hockey jerseys. woulda got the black one but it wasn't in my size

Ya I am new to the tools but I did play with the gradient tool for a bit. It gave me some ideas but I really haven't sat down and tried to do it yet. The collar is proving to be very difficult. Or at least for me anyways because even if it is the perfect size and colors and in the exact proper spot it still looks like **** lol. I am going to tone down the red a bit in the Jersey and try and add some lighting to the crest. Still alot of work to do.
