Your Montreal Canadiens favorite players list
Okay... I didn't exactly knew where to post this, but since this little "poll" is about an add-on... I'm permitting myself to post this here...
I will probably release previews here anyways!
So here it goes... remember, this is for an add-on!
This poll is oriented to Montreal Canadiens fans, but anyone can answer this!
I would like you guys to tell me your top 10 favorite players in the Montreal Canadiens SYSTEM... starting with your most prefered (1) and ordering them from most prefered to least prefered! (This also count in the players with the Hamilton Bulldogs)
Thanks!!

Great, continue to send your top 10, I will make some average with those to make my add-on...
My BIGGEST question is regarding KOIVU...
I need to tip the scale right now... I don't particularly love Koivu those past years, and especially THIS YEAR... he doesn't really demonstrate on the ice WHY he does wear the "C"... He's not a role model on the ice... Tonight, against the NYR, I've heard his name ONLY 1 TIME by the commentators... as for RYDER...
dsk67 didn't even put Koivu in his top 15... that's 5 chances for him beyond the top 10 I asked and he's not even there!!
dirkdiggs wants Koivu+Ryder out...
blake1572, a NYR fan, couldn't even name our CAPTAIN... The only player he's been able to name was Kovalev... (the true leader this year...)
I didn't put Koivu in my top 10...
BUT
Cherryblaster have Koivu in his heart like his life was depending on it...
Synergy1415P3 have Koivu at #3
Supra have him as #8 (still he's far behind in his favorite... #8 isn't good considering he's the captain and the supposed leader)
SOOO... help me tipping the scale about Koivu.
My choice of player consists of 8 players... that should be about :
4/5 forwards (I'd prefer 4)
2/3 defensemen (I'd prefer 3)
1/2 goalies (I'd prefer 1)
Thanks a lot to continue to help me designing my next add-on (maybe some of you is starting to understand what I may do with all of this :P but I won't tell it right away!)
Thanks a lot!!!

If he wasnt from Canada, he wouldnt even be playing in the NHL.
Halak is loads better, but, he is from Slovakia, so the "protected" Price will always be pushed into the no. 1/2 spot.
Hooraaay for Supra

^ Yeah you know because Carey Price randomly just helped Canada win the WJChampionship.. and it's not like he had anything to do with helpping the Bulldogs look like a contender and win the calder cup.
Oh and lets not forget he was just lucky when he had outstanding goaltending numbers even with a team that was terrible in the WHL
No.. its cause he's Canadian. You know thats why he's hyped as a saviour.. please.
I like Halak.. but Price or Halak I'd go with Price for the future.

Halak is good right now. The year Carey Price won the Calder Cup, Halak was the best goalie in the AHL. Halak must have felt ripped by Price. Price helped won the cup... but who knows, maybe Halak would have too.
On another hand, Price is set to become a really great goalie. Right now he have things to learn with the big men. Halak is better than Price right now, but Price will beat Halak in about 2 years.
Price is already EXCELLENT at breakaways/shootouts/penalty shots...
This shows he's a great goaltender. But his numbers while playing THE GAME aren't super impressive.
I like both.
I was WISHING for Halak to replace Huet yesterday against the NYR... but^in 2 years, I Hope Price will be our #1 without compromise... with a real #2 instead of a continous fight over the goaltending...
WHEN WILL WE HAVE a 60+ games goaltender!
Anyways keep voting!
I'm sure I won't satisfy everyone with this add-on, but I have an idea... I'll put the rookies on another add-on... for you to select which package you'd like to install...
RIGHT NOW I NEED:
5 forwards
2 defenseman
1 goalie
So please, from now on, give me your top 8 with those numbers, if you read this post!

Well, I've done my choices for my add-on, but I really need you to tell me wether you'd like PRICE -or- HUET in the add-on...
The 5 forwards will be:
Kovalev
Plekanec
Koivu
Higgins
Latendresse
The 2 desensemen will be:
Komisarek
Markov
The goalie is:
Price -or- Huet
I could opt to remove 1 forward in order to put 2 goalies...
But I'd have to remove KOIVU -or- PLEKANEC
Why?
Europe: Kovalev, Koivu, Plekanec
U.S.: Higgins
Canada: Latendresse
So I'd remove 1 european player to make room for a 2nd goalie...
But I don't really care.
This is the last choice before I start this Habs add-on! (Consisting of 8 players...)

I finally chose not too make a rookie pack. So if Price is not selected, he won't be in my add-on at all!
So Supra, you want Huet over Price, and Plekanec/Koivu over Price also?
Thanks for the replies!!! Greatly appreciated! I'm in big dilemas!!!!

I will stress on Halak not being in the pack only because he will be gone by the trade deadline. This is not meant to offend any Halak fans, but there is no way montreal will keep all three goalies and clearly Halak is the odd man out. The only reason he is up is to be showcased for the rest of the league while price plays regularly down in Hamliton. Huet will stay because the Habs want insurance in goal and they do NOT want to push Price to much to quickly.
as for Koivu... I have been a hugh supporter of Saku ever since his rookie season. However, in the past few years, and particularly this year he has been lazy and it shows in his ridiculous amount of penalty minutes this year. 65 minutes is NOT showing heart and soul or leadership. so i say of course he should be there, but he doesn't make my list.
also i think there should be more young guys put into some of these addons. like S. Kostitsyn, Pavel Valentenko and Matt Carle. that is just my opinion.

I will firstly do the pack I have in mind.
I turned away the "rookie" pack, but I might still do it, after the first release... I'll see how things work out and how fast and easy it is to create!
I have only 8 slots for the players... (damm it, EA... shame on you).
Forwards
1) Kovalev
2) Koivu
3) Higgins
4) ?
Defensemen
5) Komisarek
6) Markov
Goalie
7)
These are the 5 that WILL BE in the pack.
The dilema is continuing... I don't know which goalie to put in... Huet or Price? Halak won't be in there, he will if I make a rookie pack. (Don't get me wrong, I love Halak, but he's just not our building star.)
Which 4th player (forward) on my list would you like the most:
LATENDRESSE or PLEKANEC?
Which 7th player (goalie) on my list would you like the most:
HUET or PRICE?
Then, there will be the 8th slot available for either the remaining forward OR the remaining goalie...
In my opinion, Latendresse (4th player) should be part of the pack, for Quebecers to have a home native in the pack! (I do am a Quebecer).
Then, I'd prefer Price as the goalie (7th player).
Finally, the 8th player could be anyone between Plekanec and Huet... I like both.
Proportionally talking, the 8th player should be another forward, because there is a lot more players to showcase in the attack section than on defense and goals.
So it would be Plekanec.
Your thoughts?

I also agree with his picks.
But WHO is the 8th player?
Like I said, I would like to see Latendresse in there, and I've found a really sweet picture of him... so the 8th player, IMO, should be Tender!
Plekanec will be left on the side... being 9th in the choices...
Huet will be also left on the side... keeping company to Pleky!
So I'm actually doing and finalizing my RDS/TSN Gameclock new logos... and right after this, my HABS update will be on its way with those players:
1) Kovalev
2) Koivu
3) Higgins
4) A. Kostitsyn
5) Latendresse
6) Komisarek
7) Markov
8) Price
You can continue to debate and argue on this... But Drezz's choices are what looks best considering the poll I made and the results I got.
There is only Plekanec that was about the same as Latendresse in the rankings... Pleky having 1 vote more than Tender. But like I said, Tender would be the lone Quebecer in the update, and I have a really nice picture of him.
If Pleky's in, Kost's out...

So true!
Give it some time! Power Forwards take time to develop. Not everyone can be an Eric Lindros (hopefully Gui's career won't be as controversial or short).
