Rbk Edge 3rd Jersey Project

Alright, finally I started on something I wanted to do a long time ago. I always thought it would be cool to have an additional 3rd EDGE jersey for dynastys etc. .

So what I'm trying to do is to create fantasy 3rd jerseys for every NHL team. I'm gonna start with the DUCKS as they come first in the alphabet (+ they are my favorite team). It would be nice if someone out there could make torfs for the jerseys.

So if anyone wants to help me, just PM me or add me on MSN.

Cool. I've been working on some jerseys myself, although I've refrained from posting them because:

1) They're just remakes of old jerseys from the 1970s.
2) I'm also waiting for DRutka's modified McD template.
3) I have no idea how to crest properly.

To show off something at the beginning I started my work on the Ducks crest

Note 1: I lowerned the qualitiy of the crest.

Note 2: I'll wait til creating jerseys until DRutka publishes his modified McD temp, cuz I think the jerseys will have a better quality/look.

As tempting as it is to crest the logo when it is large like that, when you shrink it down to the size needed for your jersey, you lose all of the cresting details.

Just some advice, always size your logo before cresting it. That way it still looks crested on the jersey.

Sounds cool. I made a blue version of Washington's new jerseys as a 3rd for them. It was just a recoloring of Drutka's red jersey, though, so I obviously won't be posting it. I have some ideas for other teams, too, but never got around to it, since I've been wearing the original red sweaters for the alternate while playing as Calgary lately.

for each individual team, look on the right, and scroll down until you get to the teams section. Click on a team to get blogs with concepts for that team specifically.

for example, if you click washington and went through a couple of blog posts, you would find this concept:

Thats awesome man. The guys over there come up with really really good ideas eh. Some are just weird though.

Oh and I would love to help with this too....if someone will teach me how to use the MCD template. It seems very complicated. Is there a video tutorial anywhere? The Yammer one was confusing. I really wanna do something to contribute to this community..lol. My cybers didn't work so yea. Maybe if I learn how to do jerseys...

As there seems to be some interest I started on the Washington jersey to give you an impression on how it'll look. The number style is most likely to change too ^^

You were going to do Anaheim and go in order from there correct? Well when you're done this, I found a group of cool concepts. Obviously you already have one as you have a crest but yea when you see these, you'll either hate them or love them. I'll wait till you're done this to post them.

If it turns out my jersey making sucks, I'll be a scavenger. lol.

when you do the stroke or drop shadow effect on the logos, just set the angle to 90 degrees because now you have a black shadow on just one side of the logo rather than it being all around it. Also set the course of it to the U shaped one

Been dreaming up the design the past few nights for a while now.

Washington looks good, but I think it's should have the same blue shorts and helmets as their other jerseys.

Not to rain on the "fantasy" 3rd jersey parade here, but trust me on this...

- If you are doing this for yourself, all the power to you, have fun.
- If you are doing this because you think the community wants it, then don't bother. There will always be a few supporters, many vocal, that make it seem like a project like this is a good idea. But in reality, you won't get very many downloads and after all is said and done, you always look back at the 150 or so downloads and wonder.... why did I spend so much time and effort on these when hardly anyone downloads them.

Updated the Washington jersey influenced by your feedback.

Credits: See above

Changes:

Changed cresting style
slight change on the main crest
Changed pant color to blue
Added stars to the socks
Added stripes to the arms Although I'm not sure how it'll look ingame

I would be great if you start this project. But Drutka is saying the truth. You´ve got a lot of work, much positive posts, but not more.

That's because they aren't fantasy jerseys, as he said. Truth is, fantasy jerseys don't get downloaded that much. Heck, even my Amerks jerseys, all of which are real, have only been downloaded 100 or so times in the 3 months they've been up.

Back to Washington, it looks great! Will you be releasing it?
