Umm ok, hopefully DRutka will forgive me and help me here. I registered on the forum but I do not have permission to do anything. I cannot start a new topic/post, email a moderator or anything or that nature. Can anyone help me out here?
Oh and there were concepts up, I just took them down Barneyhearts.
@DRutka, the reason I edited that post was to tell everyone that I had to go somewhere for 2 hours.

All forgiven. Try not using words though that your "not sure" what the meaning is, to avoid problems.

I was referring to posts 44, 47, & 52. Not the last one with the "be back in 2 hours".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as copyrighting in the US... You do not have to register something for a copyright to be implied. If it is your work, it is your work and you can copyright it at anytime afterword. A perfect example of this was the Baltimore Ravens original logo. A guy drew it and someone from the Raven's organization got a hold of it and used it. That guy, even though it was never copyrighted, sued and won. Baltimore had to stop using the logo and had to pay monetary damages.
As far as proving when something was made, or who made what first... Anything that is made on a computer has the creation date embedded into the file, therefore you are able to prove who made what first.
The general rule of thumb is if you did not make it, it is not yours to use. If someone has a problem with someone else using their work, they can sue as long as they can provide proof that they made it, thus the computer embedded date.
Technically, EA and the NHL could have sued any of us in the past for editing their game or using their logos. BUT, since both the NHL and EA sports are well aware of the game modders at this site and others, they have implied to us that we are not doing anything wrong when, after being aware, they did not tell us to stop. They still reserve the right though to tell us to stop and if we do not comply, they could sue us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as CgyFlames and Barneyhearts... There was never any intention to cause a problem or start an argument. I was just posting some facts about the logos and concepts that were being used, trying to help out and avoid any problems in the future.
Even after wanger's misuse of "smug", I still don't feel there was any argument here, just conversation back and forth.
That being said, as quick as you both might "think" something was turning into an argument, you were both just as quick to accuse people of starting an argument. That could have caused more problems than anything that was originally said in this thread.

Understood. Of course, I didn't know your guys' intentions about your discussion, that's just where I was worried this was going.

Now that we've got that out of the way, I thought I'd post 2 concepts of mine that anyone's free to use (with credit). Remember, these are very poor quality, but I wasn't about to spend hours on these. Improve them as you see fit.

Ok well, scrap the looking for concepts thing. Time to use our imaginations. Let this be the concept thread as well. If you have any ideas that you would like to see then put to use, please post them here. Make sure they are yours or you are allowed to post them. I have exams in a couple of weeks and homework up to my head, so I don't have much time to think of concepts. I will try my best to create some roughs of the concepts shown in my free time but please do not expect too much from me because first off, I'm new at this and I don't have much time. This will let the community see how the design will really look ingame and we can go from there. The plan will still go forward but we need your ideas!
Sorry to everyone for causing trouble. I now realize I cannot use negligence or willful blindness in a court of law.
@DRutka, thank you for accepting my apology.

... wow I wasn't able to get a look at the thread for a day and it turned out let's say 'pretty interesting'. Of course it is not our intention to steal anyone's work. So if any of you has ideas for fantasy jersey and concepts just go ahead and post. And of course big thanks to the people who told us what we did wrong
Additional question: Can we get sued for creating new logos based on existing concept logos? Like instead of using XY's wordmark we creat our own (which looks similiar to his/hers) ???

Well CgyFlames, I will try to do your concept. If you would like to post your other one go ahead.
Is there any way of changing the thread title to like concepts, bring them here! ?
Finally, is there a good website where I can get letters and stuff. This is for the ATLANTA part in the logo.
Edit: I just realized, if we take that panthers jersey I had, change it so it matches Para's Idea, and use a normal Panther logo, we're good! Or am I wrong. DRutka???

For some reason the Sens concept got deleted. I posted it as a link from the NHLtol gallery (Yes, it made it on the blog). I re-saved to my computer and embedded it, so all's good now.
I have all the NHL fonts om my computer (google it). That's how I did the Altanta lettering. You could ask Drutka about what font they use, though--he might know.

Well I'll have a tackle at that, but first I'm just gonna adjust some colours and replace the illegal logos on that panthers design.
If you have the fonts could you send them to me? It would save me some time because I have very little at the moment. I just finished my homework and its 10:00! If these fonts are for microsoft word, how would you get them into photoshop?
PS: any picture thing from NHLtol just doesn't show for some reason.

Couldn't he set the degrees differently for each logo to maximize realism? (assuming he's using PS)

AnaDuck gave me permission to post here so here goes:
Here's my (admittingly bad) Toronto design. I tried an... interesting concept, but I'll leave it to you guys to decide if you like it or not. At the very least, it will require changes, both to the text's layer options and the pen tool's curves. It's a rough, to be short.
HOME
AWAY
I do NOT know how to crest, hence there's no cresting.

I really don't like the design, no offense. Maybe try something akin to their last years alternate.

Not too bad, but it's fairly obvious you lifted that crest from icejerseys. I mst ask, though, why bother with that jersey? It's more retro than fantasy, and Drutka's Sabres pack already has an excellent RBK retro jersey. But if you like it, go for it!

Yea there's really no point in making buffalo or edmonton, DRutka has them covered.
Doran, at least your skills are better than mine. Just the concept itself looks kinda bad. Try something else, but your jersey making skills are quite good.
Edit: I've been real busy and haven't got anything done. Sorry guys.
@Anaduck: like I said theres really no point for buffalo or edmonton so I'd say take em off the list unless someone wants to do em. And Florida Panthers: WIP Wanger

I've never posted here, but I've recently created two variations for the Bruins. It's basically the vintage look from from the 40's with the new logos.
edit: missing nhl logos on the collar, the top arm stripe on the black shirt has a slight "string" of yellow treading along which needs to be removed. no cresting, aside from a somewhat convincing emboss, since I don't know how to properly do it. Also, I don't plan on making any numbers since I couldn't be bothered.

Wow Machoman, really nice jersey, they look real.
I would like to know if you want to try to redo your green jersey with Wild (or Minnesota) written on it in a vintage style or like the Ducks have on their jersey. Thanks

Wow this is really getting popular. All you guys are sooo much better in skill than me lol.
Those washington jerseys look real nice Fred. If we put a couple of changes on the minnesota one so its not just the home and away it'll look real nice.
hotforswayze: extend those stripes that are closer to the middle so they touch the end of the sleeve, that way they won't stop in game (I think).
Expect to see a somewhat decent panther jersey up soon. WIP though.
Alright well here it is:
Please C&C. Any colours you'd like to change? design? etc. The socks I can't seem to do right so I'll let Anaduck do those, hopefully. Also the pants, if you want darker I'll see what I can do. If I can't then once again hopefully Anaduck will do them. If you like the design/concept/colours and do not want me to change anything besides the socks and pants, I will send this to AnaDuck to touch up. Oh Shoot, I just noticed a white line in between the red and the...red. Fixed! I should get rid of the trademarks shouldn't I? Fixed!
Credit: McD template, AnaDuck letting me be part of this, Para for his influential ideas back on page 2.

take two
edit: stripes need to be lowered to line up perfectly behind the numbers. also, the logo on the pants needs to be moved since it is located on the inside of the leg instead of the outside. I'm considering making the shoulder logos a little smaller

All of these are nice. Here are my suggestions...
- The Florida one needs some work to make the lines cleaner.
- The rest (except the Wild) needs better stitching. I just hate stitching for the sake of stitching. That edge template stitching should never be used unless it's an All-Star jersey. You would be better with no stitching at all over that.
