"Team Spirit" crowds
OK, after the disaster that was the "Real Crowds" project, I changed the way I'm doing the crowds and rebranded the name. Here's what you get:
1) Edge jerseys on the fans
2) One predominant color in each team's crowd to make the difference between home and away games more pronounced.
I tried not to go overboard with the team color--tell me what you think, please! Oh yeah, I solemnly swear not to include any visiting fans with this...
Previews of LA and Nashville

hey, i really like the idea you have for the crowds being more uniform, the only problem is when you are ottawa and 28 other teams come to visit and there is always a third of the crowd wearing a leafs jersey (which doesn't happen when ottawa plays florida or carolina) i wouldn't suppose there is a way around that?
EDIT:
"Oh yeah, I solemnly swear not to include any visiting fans with this..."
ohhhh PHEW!!! haha that was my concern with drezz's superpack, to omit the visiting fans hehe
sorry ignore the post.
are the crowds higher quality than before? i know the default 08 crowd to me looked a lot better than the 06,07 ones.

It doesn't look great but it doesn't look bad either. There's definately a lot of color. I suppose it's up to each individual person. I mean do you really see that many people w/jersey's at games? Not typically, but it does add a nice touch to have the team color vibrant within the arena....so I guess what I'm saying is...It looks good, just not typical in most Arena's on gamenight.

This may be impossible, but seeing as the people here at Depot are so talented - some have even reworked templates and made components of the game sooo much better than EA could. Is it possible to change the crowd / model of the clapping crowd in any way? Putting DRutka's jerseys on them already makes a good difference.

parsas21: That was a big problem of mine. There's no way to make them look "real" with only 16 fans per team. So I gave up on realism and opted for effect.
reaperjw: There might be some talented people here who can redo the crowd model--but I'm not one. And no, these will only be 1x. There's not much point in doing 2x because they're so blocky they don't look good up close anyway, but Drutka's jerseys do improve things!

I guess you'll lose some of the realism in Habs/Leafs games...

If you want to find a happy medium with these, this is what I think you should do...
- Do not include visiting team (sure there are exceptions to every rule, but in most cases, it just does not happen. You just wont see leafs fans in Montreal or Buffalo when the leafs are not playing that team)
- Break down what the fans are wearing like the following
- 20% of the fans wearing regular clothes
- 30% wearing the home jersey
- 15% wearing the away jersey
- 15% wearing alternate and old jerseys
- 20% wearing team related merchandise (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.)

i think those are good suggestions by DRutka, you can even stretch reality a little and add 5% to each jersey (home and away) just so you get a more uniform crowd but still quite a bit of t-shirts/merch.

The showdown: Buffalo done with Drutka's idea and with mine. I'm still partial to the single color effect myself, but I really like Drutka's % recommendations, too.
EDIT: See 2 posts below for better previews.

I vote for DRutka's idea
In all seriousness, make your previews larger, its hard to tell what you are looking at.
What's with all that gold in the top preview???? If those are my fantasy jerseys, I wouldn't use them in the crowd.

OK, here's some better previews. That yellow in Drutkas idea isn't the fantasy jerseys, it's a Sabres shirt I made for the "merch" fans. Problem is, bright colors tend to multiply themselves and appear to your eye to be more frequent than they actually are.

Yes, it is possible, but nobody is going to go through the madness. The 3d model ebo file consists of 50 frames! Each frame, one by one, would have to be changed, and matched for consistency. The verticles are limited, and whatever work that can be done wouldn't look a whole lot different anyways. The 3d crowd cyberfaces are mirrored, there are only 6 or so verticles assigned for it, which means not much can be done do change or improve the look.
Nice idea, but not worth it.

DRutka's Idea loks much better. I don't like how many throwbacks are visible in your crowd.

I agree. As nice as your packs are, they are just not realistic. I have been to many Sabres games, when using my mix, it looks more like what you would actually see at the game.

When EA comes out with like 40 people for the temp/file, then we should be able to make good crowds for the game.

I know. You're idea looks way better than I expected, and it is very close to what I've seen from photos. So I will release a pack like that. I just figured that I had almost the whole NHL done before I tried your idea, so why waste all that effort?
