Unorthadox Cyber Preview Thread
Hey, I'll be posting all my progress for the cyber project in this thread.
Here is my latest, Alexei Cherepanov:
Probably wont be on the Rangers roster anytime soon but I felt like making him :p Also I couldnt make it in 2x because the pic was too small but I think it turned out pretty well considering what I had to work with. Its basically done, I'm just not sure what ID to assign him, faceplace 2007 says 2903 should I just release with that ID?
Oh and BTW I recently released:
Jason Bacashilhua Cyber:

and my 2x eye and tooth textures:

yeah for now I'd just keep it simple for Owen so he doesn't have to go re doing everything. I haven't heard of his plans but common sense says EA transferred most ahl/newbies to he 7000 range, so the faceplace slots are still available, hence why make more work for the guy?? Awesome job, 2x, smex, if it's as damn good as that who cares about stretching the computers limits. The only real advantage of 2x is when you wanna see a guys zits up close during cutscenes. 90% of the rest of the time 2x is wasted. It should only be used for uniforms, goalie equipment and ices.

Oh Jimbo, you are so wrong in this case. There is a huge difference between 2x and 1x cybers. If you like so much 1x format, use it in your own works and get bad grades. Not intrested to change your jerseys to 1x? Eh, not I think so. So don't speak bullshit, go and buy better cpu if you haven't enough power to 2x cybers. Everybody want make best quality, so give us peace to make what we can!
PS. Maybe I overreacted. I am sorry for that but I love to make cybers. I have made them so many (maybe 250-300 cybers since december 2005) that I think I know what I am talking about. How many cybers you have done?
For Dox: I think there was huge amount of work to made this cyber if you used that photo. Well done!
Ps. I hope you try this model for your cyber, I think there is little problems with model (part of the face south from mouth was it cheek or chin, something like that, I can't remember the word. and eyes are maybe too large.)Alexandre Daigle could be better model. Here is his screenshot:

Ossi - why get upset? Jimbo was expressing his opinion, and people will always have different ones. I am not 100% sold on 2x cybers every time either. I'm making them now because that's the popular thing to do this year.. but if you're good enough, a 1x cyber can look even better than 2x. If the cf maker is skilled and can add things like shading, lighting/corrections, effects, etc.. and not rely a whole lot of the original picture, a 1x cyber can be spectacular.
In fact, a cyber by Phil09 and Antti in 1x is always just as good, if not better, than any 2x I've ever seen.
Regardless - Jimbo is right when he says you rarely see a cyber in the game long enough to notice the real difference. I agree with Jimbo that jerseys, ice, etc... benefit from 2x more than cybers - you see those other graphics much more often, for longer periods of time. And this is coming from me - and nobody loves making cybers more than me.
Unorthadox - that's a great cyber you have there, once again. Good job.

Thanks guys Incase you didn't notice, along with the eyes I made some ebo tweaks to the nose to make it a bit longer and less wide, used some reference pictures of him which helped.

Very good work you provided here, damn! I'm VERY impressed by how managed to make a cyber out of the Cherepanov picture, incredible work
Toivonen turned out great also:D
I know this probably is out of interest but I got some hi-res pictures of the players of the Swedish eliteserien team Timrå IK laying around, send me a PM if it has any interest

Finally finished another cyber, school has been crazy lately and I didnt have time to do any cyber work or even formally release the cybers already done and previewed here. But thanks to brad all the cybers previewed here will be released shortly in a package with some of his recent cybers as well as Marius's.
Here are two of my latest
Colby Armstrong:
Sam Gagner:

(big thanks to brad for his help along the way with this one)

Awesome Joe - this means that Gagner will be a part of this release? I see you worked out those rough areas we were battling yesterday. The cyber is awesome, same with Armstrong

Well yammer actually had a better base model, I gave it a try with my texture but its one of those models that are hard to edit and I'm not sure I want to invest more time into little tweaks here and there all over again. If you want to take a look at it I can send you the new one, it has potential but without the proper edits I'd rather go with my current one.
