Possibility to fix the Patch problem?

so as most of you know, the second you install the Edge Jersey Patch, you can't install addons.

My guess is that if you install the patch, then open the Jerseys.viv using BigGUI, you could extract the EA Edge Jerseys, uninstall NHL08 and reinstall it, then import the EDGE jerseys manually.

But that's just a guess, there's no guaranty it'll work, I've yet to try it.

The reason Jersey mods do not show up in the game AFTER THE PATCH is a simple solution.

Jersey, numbers, and letters file numbers get changed with the patch.

For example, Ottawa’s home jersey file before the patch was “uni020_1.fsh” but after the patch it is “uni020_21.fsh”. (_1 to _21)

So you have to either edit the bat file to the correct jersey, numbers, and letters numbers before running it or manually import the files.

To manually import the files, change the new file names you are trying to import to the corresponding ea file names and import them manually with bigGUI. Then compress the new graphics, rebuild, close bigGUI and then run BHImport. (This is what I did and it works perfectly)

beat me to it, but yeah EA is really not that smart as everyone's making out to be. Simply put, they changed the internal counter in the game to slots 20/21 for all nhl/ahl unis for the main slots. If you wish to isntall my unis or any other simply right click on one of my team bat files and change the numbers from - and 1 to 20 and 21 then resave and manually change the jersey numbers to 20/21. I'll release two bat setsups when I start redooing my unis and allow for patched and non patched importimg...

Here's a thought.

If you're just going to overwrite them with addons - why bother using the patch?

Because not everything is done yet. Logos, torfs, etc. The patch is just something temporary to help the wait for me.

Exactly. Most people would rather have ea's crappy unis then ahl tshirts masquadring as jerseys. The patch does exactly that, plugs holes that haven't been released yet.

On a side note drezz, take a real good gander at what ea did at the new unis. Now goto the edge website and look at the next gen pics. The crests, every crease, everything except the gloves(customizable in next gen as are the gloves and helmets), helmets, and pants are the EXACT same. Also if you pull the unis out you'll notice ea's slick idea of making the unis look tighter. I've experimented a bit and the difference is NOT noticeable enough to go butchering temps. BUT it MIGHT give you some ideas how to take their concept one step further to truly produce a tighter looking uni without messing with the player model in ebo edit.

I just tried that and it crashed the game. Maybe I just did something wrong though, I don't know. I ran BHImport after, so I don't know why it crashed.

Edit: On a second try, I got it working. This fix works very well.

So for Buffalo they would be

uni003_20 and uni003_21?

just took a look at the jersey patch from ea... it looks like garbage. Atleast they could've done is put some real gloves and pants into the file. I'll wait for jimbo or L.H. for their jerseys, atleast we know some real work went into them!

If they aren't jersey mods, they'll still work fine.
