Össi's cyberfaces
FHR08 - It's coming like a train, slowly but surely. Some cyberfaces I have made for FHR08. What do you like?

My normal name is ossi at FHR. Letter O with dots. I have made maybe 250 cyberfaces for FHR in two last years, and yes it's nice that all older cyberfaces could use in NHL08 CG-version. I should make fixes to my older FHR cyberfaces and some of them have to re-make. If you want I could put some more cyberface pics to this thread? Sorry my english, I'm not very strong at it.

Hi össi, excellent cybers and your english is better than mine:-) Keep up this excellent work. So as your write for FHR08 it tells me that you guys will do a FHR08 addon and hopefully also the Mestis:-)

Yes, FHR08 is coming. Maybe we do Mestis too, but at now it seems that we haven't enough time to do Mestis in this year. Our FHR-team is small, only few guys working with it. Me, for example have two little kids and wife who doesn't like very much that her husband is sitting all the days working with cyberfaces. Maybe I have to move out from my home and get extra time for my cyberfacework! We haven't got enough good photos to Mestis players cybers too. If Mestis is coming out there is not many cybers including it.

So you're using 512x512 textures?
I need to try this sometime, too. Looks awesome.

Yes I use 512x512 resolution. If you get good photos it's clever to use 2x resolution. Why do use 256x256 resolution if you have good quality photos? It's wasting of quality.

FHR gets pictures from Finnish SM-League. Thanks to them! I haven't got time to make NHL-cybers now. In the worst case I should do maybe 100 new cyberfaces to FHR before Xmas. One cyberface takes time to make from 1/2 hour up to 3 hours. It means maybe 150-200 hours making cyberfaces and testing and fixing takes time too. Maybe at spring I do some NHL cyberfaces if I get enough good pictures. Antti's Portraits doesn't work and it means no enough good pictures to NHL. There is not very much mean to make cyberfaces from bad pictures. Then guys could say:" This guy's cyberfaces looks like my grandma's ***hole."
I did a few NHL players cybers at last spring. You could download them from sportsgamer's pages.

Are there any risks to make the game crash because of the 2x textures? I know that it's the case for several other textures, that's why I ask.
If not, I'm going to make my next cybers in this better resolution, too!

Don't worry about it. Game doesn't crash. Almost all FHR cybers are 2X and in our last year addon FHR08 there was ca. 300-400 2X cybers.

Oh cool, I think it was nhl 05 where it would crash if you had too many 2x cybers so I never bothered to check in the other versions. Good to know, and great work by the way.

Tahtinen = WOW
And yes, you can easily 2x everything for high quality textures and the game doesn't crash. Just takes a lot of room. LOL

Great as always.
Edit: Can you also post the textures? You can watermark it when you don't trust the others, I just want to see your work itself

Here is one texture:
My opinion is that there is no matter what kind is a texture if the model isn't good enough. Last year I did one mistake with my cybers colours. There was too many variations with my cybers colours. This year I have decided to fit all colours in my cybers that they seems to be like same kind of space and same kind of light. So then colours in my cybers finally always doesn't seem like them are in photos. You know photos, one photo is too yellow, one maybe too red, some of them are dark and in some photos there is too much light. Then if you make cyberface's colours like they are in photo, player could seem too yellow or red and so on. Oh this was very difficult to say in english words, I hope you understand what I mean guys. When I finally stop working with my cybers to FHR08 I would put a balance between all my cybers colours. So it's possible that I change cybers colors a little bit in future. Thanks for the teeth texture, I don't remember the guy's name... maybe it was fali or something like that.
