2007 IIHF World Championship Addon

Hi all! I just made a full scale addon about the recent world championship. It's 750 mb, because I modified some audio files, but I put everything I found in the web in it.
For now I just put some previews, don't know if I manage to upload it, I did it for myself, so all files here aren't made by me, I don't wanna take credit for anything, I just modified rosters and lines, and some graphic files.
Gameplay is JB's last version. Cyberfaces, pucks, facepacks, jerseys, torfs, masks, crowds, arenas, boards, ices, nets, and so on are done by people here, at slovak, czech, austrian, russian, belarusian, german, swedish, finnish, etc. sites. Sorry if I don't remember exactly who, but they are just too many. I wanted to ask watis if I could release this addon, because I used his roster as a base.
Tell me what you think (sorry for these not-so-good images), and most of all if I can upload it. Thanks to all.

Setup (perfectly clean, nothing is left in the main directory after installation):

Goalies (mostly from elhmod, only 2 third goalies don't have their gear):

Cyberfaces (a very lot of them, taken from a lot of websites):

Coach and crowd (if you can notice, it's TobiXY's one):

I'll resize them if needed

The problem with a mod like this is while it's fantastic, just releasing something with no clue who the addon makers are WITHOUT proper credit amounts to stealing. It's a simple trap to fall into and unfortunately it's almost impossible to keep track of something this big unless you started cataloggging EVERYTHING by EVERYONE from the get go. It's an awesome way to get everything all under one "roof" so to speak, but again, sooner or later someone will cry foul...

(there's so many times I've dreamed of doing something like this (considering I have 15 unis for EVERY team in the game, over 4600 cybers, 4800+player portraits, 7 goalies per team for every team in the game, complete ECHL/AHL mods etc...(12 DVD fulls of addons dating back to virtually everything released on the web from 2001 onwards, addons, concepts, even watermarked incomplete ideas etc)). It's just virtually impossible to catalog what came from where as alot of it is from 2005 onwards. Makers long since forgotten such as Fali, Pop, Deker, Henke etc.. and throwing a blank made by the addon community, while looking like a credit is just chocolate covered bubkus to stealing. In my travels here and everywhere since I discovered and joined DMD back in Aug2001, most addon makers don't care and appreciate their work being distributed, however most also like a kind word saying they indeed made an addon or part of said addon and like that credit. Sorry for the rant but as much as I'd love anything new I don't have to add to my rolling archive of all things addons, unless credit can be given to all addon makers It would be unwise to release it...

Basically what jimbo is trying to say is that you need to be providing proper credit to all the authors you've included in this package. Its an important aspect of add-on making and people do put a lot of work into their add-ons so a mention that it is their work is really the least you could do. So while such a package may be a great collaboration, if it doesnt provide proper credit it really has no grounds as an add-on.

Yes it would be "stealing" if you don't credit the persons, but on the other hand it would be great to have this:-)

@Jimbo66: what you have is all for NHL07 ? [15 unis, ...] - wow:-) I have about 12 GB of 07 add-ons, but I think there a duplicates as some files where hosted on different sites.

Release this... of course get the consent from everyone who made their respective parts, but once you do, release this bad boy... it looks awesome. Also, does it over write any of the leagues, or just replace all of the international files?

It replaces international files, where possible (ices, nets...), if not, the addons are generic, like the TV scoreboard. In the 'National' league are only the 16 teams of the championship. I tried to do a tournament with the correct fixtures, but it's not possible unfortunately

No, you can do the tournament, the only thing is you have to select the right teams and obviously there isn't a schedule.

Quick question/concern, will this affect the NHL side of the game? I have PNHL, Captain Mazda's arena ditties and Depot rosters installed, I don't want to lose that. Thanks.

It will, the add-ons you mentioned are generic. As for PNHL, the only things that are gonna change are goalies, I don't think you care about cyberfaces and facepacks even because I added some. Unfortunately the ditties are completely different, and so the roster, which is quite important, actually. I'm so sorry about all these problems, I messed up everything with this add-on, I thought I would do a good thing
