amnesiac's roster (January updates)
Roster is updated regularly (every week or so) by myself. Look for "amnesiac's roster (Month updates) has been updated!" post for most recent update.
These are highly accurate up to date rosters and player attributes for NHL09 on PC (
updated for NHL and top 7 Olympic teams only: CAN, USA, RUS, SWE, CZE, FIN, SVK).
All NHL team rosters include players who've played at least one NHL game so far this year (let me know if I missed any relative to the date I updated my roster). Other players (in minors) may be found in the "additional roster" in NHLView. The team lines are done by myself and may not be accurate to date, as they get changed too often in real life.
All AHL/Euro teams are not updated. Personally, I have no interest in updating these
Salaries for all active NHL players have been updated (respective salary cap hit on Sept 9, 2010). Please note, since the cap was lower in 08-09, many teams are now over the cap when playing in dynasty mode, and therefore you will find several big names in the free agency which have been put there automatically by the computer. The only way to fix this is to lower the individual players' salaries in NHLview in order to be under the cap. I cant do much about that.
The height and weight for 95% of the NHL players has been adjusted to 6'1, 205 lbs. The reason for this is because tall and heavy players are too slow, while short and light players are too fast in the game. This way Im able to adjust the players' speed and acceleration relative to each other without have to guess, as speed is the most important/dominant attribute in the game. That being said, I do slightly adjust the extreme tall players to have some noticeable appearance in the game (ie. 6'4 players are put to 6'2, 6'5 to 6'3, etc). All in all its barely noticeable, and it makes the game more fair, in my opinion.
Created teams:
- World national team (under
Japan) with players that are not citizens of one of the top 7 nations (players such as: Kopitar, Vanek, Streit, Hiller, etc). Makes an even 8 competitive teams for Olympic tournaments.
- Additional NHL "All-Star teams". The 2nd and 3rd best possible teams from East and West. All-Star B teams are under
Metallurg Magnitogorsk and
Ak Bars Kazan, while the All-Star C teams are
MODO and
Jokerit.
- Battle of Canada tournament. Team West (BC, AB, SK, MB) are under
Farjestads BK, Team Ontario are under
Djurgardens IF, and Team East (QC and Maritimes) are under
Brynas IF.
- East and West "Young Gun Teams" consisting of the 2010-11 sophmores and rookies of the NHL under
Frankfurt Lions and
Hamburg Scorpions.
- "All-Time Legends" teams, including players such as: Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux, Roy, Plante, Lafleur, Richard, Bossy to name a few. These teams are under
Avangard Omsk and
Dynamo Moscow. See below for facepack and cybers (credit to Turbo 6, Slomo76, Jo-Naz, heninsh).
You will find all 11 of these teams in the
Elitserien league, as well as the regular All-Star teams. Hope you like them.
Installation Instructions
** Please BACKUP your exhibition.exh and db.viv files before proceeding **
Step 1:
Copy and Paste or unzip
exhibition.exh and
exhibition.exha.tdb to your My Documents\NHL09 FOLDER. Say Yes to overwriting the files.
Step 2:
Copy and Paste or unzip
db.viv to your C:Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09\db FOLDER. Say Yes to overwriting the file.
Step 3:
Copy and Paste or unzip
BHImport09.bat, genbhnhl.exe, ImpBIG.exe, gfxpak.exe, addon_installer.bat to your C:Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09 FOLDER (if you dont have them already). Click on BHImport09.bat.
That should do it.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
-- If you have problems running the game after following these steps and you have Vista or Win 7, I suggest disabling the UAC as it blocks BHimport from copying the files (
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...-windows-vista). Although please beware as this makes your computer more vulnerable.
-- To enable the roster for online play you can download

Copy all files and the Patches folder to your C:Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09 FOLDER, and click
NHL09rosterpatch file in
Patches folder (it will not appear to do anything).
Your anti-virus may prevent the patch from working, as they detect a trojan with browserengine.dll. You will need to ignore this threat or the roster will not work for online play. I suggest you check your virus vault (such as for AVG) after a scan to make sure this file was not deleted.
