did you unzip the files for the download before you installed and after you restarted your PC?

Well I restarted my PC to turn off the UAC, then I moved the files into the main NHL09 folder, then I installed them.
edit: I found the problem. I apparently installed some rosters wrong. All fixed.

I unzipped the roster update file to the required folders but the second two in the mydocumtents folder didnt overwrite anything. those file types were never there in the first place. only the exhibition.exh file was overwritten.
not to mention the game only runs until I try to start an actual match, then crashes  |

the only way this would be a roster problem is if a team's has too many, too little dressed, lines are not filled or if a team has the setting captaincy wrong
does this happen with all teams or just one team
I suggest looking at each team using NHL View and making sure that each team has 18 players and 2 goalies dressed, no empty spots on the lines and each team has 1 C and 2 As.
Otherwise this is not a roster issue.

like bluebuds in the download page comments, I do not know what NHLView screen you are referring to in order to get Bozak on the Leafs. The screen that I see lists: Roster Management, Edit Lines, Minor League Management, Set Default Rosters, Jersey Numbers. Tyler Bozak is not listed in these screens. Is there a specific game mode that you have to be in?
I'm also hoping that Ryan Stoa will be included in the Avalanche roster for a future update.
And I noticed that you mistakenly used the acute accent key in place of the apostrophe key on a few players that you created, such as Wes O'Neill and Ryan O'Byrne. (for example, you used Wes O`Neill instead of Wes O'Neill)

Hi, I'm new here, I didn't see this question/problem asked already so forgive me if it has been.
I started a "Be a Pro" file with the raw/original NHL 09 roster. I was a little frustrated that some of my favourite players were missing and I found this site which had roster updates, thanks a lot for the file guys. However, now my original Pro file does not run.. when I try to load it, I briefly see the screen after it loads with a bunch of gibberish under the player's picture and then the game crashes.
I was just wondering if there's a way to recover this game/file or if I'm just better off starting a new one. As I said, this was with the original NHL 09 roster, the player was David Backes so he was already on the default rosters.

First, it has been asked, not in this thread but in other roster threads
No, the BAP and exhibition rosters must be the same roster. Meaning you must use the same exhibition roster that you created the BAP with or you can start a new BAP or better yet, not play BAP as it is crap anyways

I've got to the point where it will no longer load
If it helps, I think the problem is with the BH Import cause it sends error messages

i tried to do the same thing i have vista and i put the nhl 09 files in my document and i ran the Vista Bh import and the bh 09 bat file and went on the game still same rosters of 09 i need 10 help me please

that is your problem
you should have kept the files in the C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09 folder
see the link in my sig that says Vista, do that first then install the rosters as per instructions in the Roster Installation as per link in my sig
