a little help here, please?
I know i'm a noob here, i will accept any ridicule that comes my way as it is my duty, but....
my xbox 360 broke (red rings of death, woohoo!) so i went out and bought a copy of nhl 09 for the pc. I really wanted to use the new rookies from this season, and am quite excited to download your rosters, because from what i've heard, they're really good. Anyways, I downloaded the link to the site, and followed the link to some sort of not-english-website where it seems i have to register or something.
Do i really have to register to a website that I won't even understand? lol. Because it said that I've already reached the maximum amount of my downloads or something like that, so I'm becoming more and more confused on what I should do.
I'll register if that's what i really need to do for these files, but I don't want to have to register, only to find out that i can't download it anyways. Like i said, i don't want to subsribe to a forum that I cannot comprehend because I don't in fact speak the language, lol.
Is it german? :D

the rosters are not 360 rosters. They are PC rosters only

yes....i know that. But thanks for the speedy reply anyways! SO, i've just decided to screw it and register anyways....it's a little odd though..lol. I almost got the Spam-away question wrong (who makes NHL 09, except it was in German) Sorry for the stupid question.

yes it`s german but you speak a germanic language (english).
It was new for me that there is a limit for downloads. Thinking that was free without registration.........hmm.
I upload it to nhldepot now

thanks for the reply watis. Apparently I'm doing something totally wrong. I've copied my NHL 09 directory over to my documents (I have vista) and followed all of the instructions in the readme. However, when I load up NHL 09, i've still got the default rosters, i.e. meszaros still on ottawa, pietriengalo (sp?) and stamkos and voracek and other rookies still do not exist, etc.
Basically, even though i've followed all of the instructions, I'm still struggling to get the rosters working.
Any suggestions?

you don't have to copy to your documents\nhl09 folder
all you have to do is
turn off UAC
restart PC
unzip addon tools to the main game folder
unzip the db.viv file to your C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09\db folder
unzip your 2 exhibition.exh files to your Documents\NHL09 folder
run BHImport

UAC is User Account Control
C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09 or whatever folder you installed the game in.
It is not Documents\NHL 09

ok so i re did everything, this time only doing it in my original installation directory (C:\Program files\Ea sports\NHL 09)
Still didn't work. Sundin is still on the leafs, the rookies are all still missing, meszaros is still on ottawa...etc etc.
Question: I see another directory in my documents titled NHL 09, that i did not make. Is that the directory that i am supposed to copy files like db.viv and the exhibition files into?

no, Documents\NHL09 is for the 2 exhibition files only so unzip the 2 exhibition files there
the db.viv must be in your C:\Porgram Files\EA Sports\NHL 09\db folder so unzip it there.

I did that but it still doesn't work and I ran 32vistaimport so that's not it either.
Where do I turn off the UAC?
When I initially install the game am I moving NHL09 to documents from program files or am I just copying it?

you will need to uninstall NHL09
UAC is in the Control Panel.
you are doing neither copy or move, keep it in the C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL 09 folder

You say Documents\NHL09 is for the 2 exhibition files only so unzip the 2 exhibition files there
But what am file am I installing or moving to DOCUMENTS in order to dump these files into ?
I installed the entire game into my program files and it still does not work, this is so much more frustrating than 08, please just give a detailed step by step.

dude you have to open up nhl 09 before you get the NHL 09 folder in your documents, otherwise there will be no NHL09 folder in your documents.
Lol, i learned this the hard way, i stupidly copied my entire nhl 09 directory into my documents, lmfao. What a noob i am!
But also, another question: when I want to update these rosters, how would I go about doing that? Would I just update the exhibition files, or do i have to re-run the vista32 batch file?

I got it finally thanks, I didn't realize there was a file already in documents
Yes you have to run the batch file.
This is much more dificult than nhl08!

it's easier than 08 as you don't have to do anything for 09 other than install the rosters normally whereas 08, you have to move the whole game folder to the documents\nhl08 folderl

Please clearify!
I am using Vista. I downloaded BvH NHL09-Roster Version 6 and the readme file is not correct.
From readme file:
"
1. Copy db.viv to C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL09\db XP
or C: \My Documents\NHL09\db Vista
"
Comment: The path on the Vista machine does not exist.
From readme file:
"
2. copy exhibition.exh and exhibition.exha.tdb to My Documents\NHL08
"
Comment: Obviously it should be the NHL09 folder, but is the rest OK?
From readme file:
"
3. copy BHImport08.bat to C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL08 XP
or Vista 32 BHImport.bat to C: \My Documents\NHL09 Vista
"
Comment: First, the file included is called Vista 32_BHImport07.bat, I suppose this is the one to use in my case? Is the path really correct, in Vista?
This is what I did:
I put the exhibition files in My Documents\NHL09.
I put the db.viv file in C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL09\db.
I put the rest of the files in C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL09.
Then I executed Vista 32_BHImport07.bat.
This did not work, the game didn't start.

do this
turn off UAC
restart your PC and then reinstall the rosters by the way you did it.
