BvH Roster for NHL08 Version 20

Hey guys! I know that you all are waiting for a roster update because NHL season has already started. So, here you are: the latest BvH Roster update for NHL08. I know that there a lot of unfinished things but it's better than nothing.
In a thread about this roster you all are welcomed to ask anything, add your comments how I can improve it etc. My e-mail is vlad@tvnet.lv or you can use PM messages on this site. Good luck!!!

New:
- all latest NHL and AHL transactions as of 16.10.2008
- all latest European Leagues transactions as of 16.10.2008
- updated many NHL and AHL players ratings
- updated a lot of European teams players ratings
- updated most NHL and AHL players height/weight
- corrected all AHL players helmets (Jofa=RBK helmets) I hope
- updated NHL, AHL and European teams lines (players who are on a long injured reserve are scratched)
- created a lot of new players
- updated jersey # for all leagues
- created all rookies of Czech Extraliga, Swedish Elite League, SM-Liiga, DEL, custom teams, NHL and AHL teams

Just see readme.txt file for infos as usual. All tools for NHL 08 that are required for the addons to start your game without crashes included into this file (genbhnhl, gfxpak, ImpBIG) - look for "Tools for NHL08" archive.

Im having some trouble with this roster update. Ive followed all the steps in the readme file and my .bat file says that its running successful. However, when I go in to play a game, the rosters do not appear to have changed. For example, Souray is still on the Canadiens, Vishnovsky is still with LA. Cole is still with Carolina.

Any suggestions????

There is an explanation what to do in this case in a Readme.txt file. Read it carefully (last indent).

Ah I see now what my problem might be. Where do I find the NHL view program though? (e.g - open NHL View program) I looked through all the directories and the .rar file and didnt see anything.

nevermind. I didnt realize that "NHL View" is an entirely separate program.

i have installed this roster update, everything is nice, just cannot play matches in dynasty mode because of salary cup...i'm 4M over

is there any possibility to increase the cap?

cap is hard coded, the only way to fix it, is to edit the salaries of the players

I have never really gotten a roster updated for nhl 08 before, and I was wondering how to get it to work. Also, I can't find the readme.txt, can someone help me with that too?

Bought 08 last night, installed in normally. Downloaded the latest BvH roster update. Didn't mess with anything else but the following:

genbhnhl,ImpBIG,gfxpak Put them all in C:Programs/NHL08 (did it)

extract exhibition.exh /to My Documents/NHL08 folder. (already there)

extract exhibition.exha.tdb / to My Documents/NHL08 folder. (i do not have this file, cant find it anywhere)

extract db.viv In DB folder /C:Program nhl08/DB (already there)

Run Bimport after to take update (update doesnt work, says it cant find the files or something)

i NEED SOME HELP! Thanks

Alright, figured out the .rar file thing, found the file i was missing, and followed the steps. Game crashed as soon as i started it. So i uninstalled and reinstalled it, am backing up the files, and awaiting some kind of help. Might try it again.

is it C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL08 or C:\Programs/NHL08 where you installed the game

I suggest C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NHL08

sakic2002 is releasing an 08 roster but not sure if it is an updated BvH version or not

That sounds like work... and requiring some know how... Besides there are some other discrepencies like Selanne on the Red Wings etc.

As far as I know. The majority of the lineups are correct just the odd flaw like the Selanne thing and then trades that happened later like Krajicek for O'Brien and signing Sundin that just haven't been updated yet.

how can we get the roster of nhl08 to work when playing with ea online
couldnt figure that one out
i made trades and and changes for the roster but when playing ea onlin with nhl08 it goes back to ea roster instead of the updated one

can someone help me with this one

both players must have the same roster files and fmisc.viv fiile
